Original Manifesto

Carla Jardim

Candidate for Deputy St. Helier South

I was born in Jersey to Portuguese parents and attended Rouge Bouillon, Haute Vallée and Hautlieu Schools before studying at the University of Oxford.

This journey is unusual in our Island, but it shouldn’t be: more people in Jersey should be able to achieve their potential and live a decent life.

I have spent 13 years working in the charity, higher education and public sectors, including seven years in the UK. I grew up in town and have lived in St Helier South since returning to Jersey in 2019, and at Havre des Pas since 2021, where I am regular user of the Lido. Through my paid work with Government (and my voluntary work with young women) I’ve seen first-hand that Jersey is becoming increasingly unequal.
