I was born and went to school in Jersey and after university had a career in trade associations, including being Director General of the Building Societies Association and the Association of British Insurers. Subsequently, I have held Chair and Director positions in England and Jersey with companies, public bodies, and charities, culminating in being the Political Leader of the City of London from 2012 to 2017. I am currently Chair of Link, which runs Britain’s cash dispenser network. In Jersey I have been Chair of Andium Homes, the Jersey Development Company and the Jersey Competition and Regulatory Authority and have contributed to work on population policy, housing policy, consumer policy, financial stability, and Jersey Identity. I am a keen student of Jersey history and have written _Jersey’s Population – a History_ and _Jersey in 1331_ and I am working on _An Economic History of Jersey_.
